The House on the Hill Curriculum

PRACTICAL LIFE

Our practical life exercises focus around the care of self and daily essential activities. Children will develop lifelong skills as well as independence and self-esteem.

LANGUAGE

Using the hands-on Montessori phonics approach, children will learn to read, build a solid knowledge base and learn the relationships between systems of word patterns.

MANDARIN

Our bespoke Mandarin programme is led by hand-picked native Mandarin speakers, engaging children through games, storytelling and cultural immersion for a genuine learning experience.

MATHEMATICS

Our Montessori mathematics material will help children to grasp key concepts that include numeration, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We develop each child’s mathematical mind by tailoring our curriculum to provide hands-on experiences, helping form positive associations with numbers.

CULTURE & GEOGRAPHY

Children will learn the world they live in and the various cultures through subjects that include science, zoology, geography, history and art.

CREATIVE EXPRESSION

Through group activities in the visual arts, music and movement, we help your child to develop their unique expression of creative imagination.

SENSORIAL

Our manipulatives and materials provide a range of activities and exercises for the children. From identifying shapes to touch recognition, our activities are centred around refining their senses.

SOCIAL AWARENESS

Through daily activities and interactions, children will develop social and emotional awareness as they relate to their classmates, teachers and surroundings.
